No, not unless you have the program running in the background. Computers have a harddrive, where the program is installed. Computers have memory basically whats played on the computer. If you dont have enough memory, then yes it will slow your computer down. But just having installed, the answer is no.

I use Windows XP and on my computer is The Sims Complete Collection, The Sims 2 Nightlife and The Sims 2 Pets, and it hasn't slowed my computer down at all. I think you should be okay with Sims 2 on your computer, but don't quote me on that <3

I think it will slow your computer down a little, because of the amount of space it and those expansion packs take up. You're talking about 8 gigs for the sims 2! Oh, and don't ever try to minimze that thing or have some popup come up that takes you out of the sims 2, because once you click it to come back up, it takes forever to come up again.

Depends on what specifications you are running on. My daughter's laptop has 512mb on a 1.8ghz Athlon MP and Mobile Raedon. Nothing special, a three year old machine that runs the Sims 2 really well. So if you have a machine that is any newer, it wont hurt it at all.

I have the Sims2 and all the expansions (with the exception of Seasons--comes out tomorrow)...No, my computer is not any slower. Like other people have said, check the game specs to be sure your computer can handle the game.

Yes. You'll get nothing else done. Productivity will cease. There is nothing slower. There is a reason it takes a Sim over 30 minutes to take a leak - figure it out.
