I think its because they just dont know that being a Black American they are as a fact on average 21% WHITE. There is no such thing in America as a Black 100% African. I am so surprised that so few Black Americans realize this tie to White Americans.
I do think the abuse that the black minority has received over the last 250 years has done so much damage that its difficult to repair and helps segregate the blacks into a "black group" and doesnt let them identify their white heritage also.

It is true about some people. I'm sure you just met some bad apples as you said. Everyone where you will go you will find people who hate someone for some reason or another. I wouldn't say that black people are the most racist and white certainly are not either.

I am African American myself and I love all races of people!!! Please do not let one or two separate instances ruin your outlook on the diverse group of people. I am from Memphis, TN and now I reside in Atlanta, Ga and honestly in the south sadly but surely the racial divide is really think down here in Ga especially in the outlying counties outside Atlanta. But within Atlanta as a whole I really think that there are more positive Afican Americans than of any negatives. Yes it depends on where and what area of the country you are in. And the gentlemen saying that our race is holding on to a grudge from 150 years ago is not true. In all actuality like stated earlier depending on what part of the US you are in, I will say that the minorities are mostly racially profiled and that isn't just limited to African Americans when I say minorities!!! We as minorities are presently still being profiled and that can include African Americans, Caucasians, Latinos, and ect. so please believe it is the same in all races but the minorities are profiled more than the other upper class citizens. And honestly and truely it is not based on race anymore because it is really about what working class that your are apart of sadly. And also have you seen the movie "Crash" with Sandra Bullock and Ludacris?? It is a very good movie based on the racial divided here in America and the things in that movie actually and sadly happen. But seriously it is not the race sweetie but it could've been just some ignorant people that you ran into. My mother and father taught me to love no matter what background the person is from. Hate is a very strong thing to say and harbor as a feeling. I rather just be content and try to get along with good people. But please don't let the bad apples let you percieve that we are all like that when that is completely untrue. Me personally I don't like to generalize anything towards people in plural or a situation. I like to direct it towards the person that is involved within the situation directly. So I hope that some way down the line that you would actually have a better experience next time and hope you will not run into anymore bad apples!!! God Bless!!!

I'm a white guy. My guess would be that you probably met some bad apples. But it is very important to remember that people are people. Black, white, brown, etc. We have wonderful descent black, white, brown, etc. people and we have horrible, nasty black, white, brown, etc. people. We are all the same. There should be no stereo-types when it comes to this. One race loves or hates just as much as any other race.

I find this to be true also. I am black and live in the southwest where there are not a lot of blacks. The ones I have met have been very racist and walk around with chips on their shoulders. I can't take being around them. Consequently, all my friends are white.

You've just run into some bad apples.
You should visit the west coast. It's very diverse, but also not as conservative as other parts of the US, which may or may not be good, depending on what you're used to.

It's bad to hate anyone, but they probably have a reason to hate whites, You are from Denmark; people are different. Folks that are nice to you and smile in your face, can be just as prejudice and hateful towards different races of people.

Well, this is true to a certain degree. There are many black americans that I consider would be "reverse racists" if you will.
Mayor Nagen of New Orleans, the Reverand Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc.
Can't we all just get along?

You've probably just met some bad apples, but , sad to say, racism does still exist in the minds of the narrow minded regardless of color.
