he is afraid you might read his facial reaction if you pick an expensive ring and might interpret it for something negative in relation to your relationship.
he wants to please you by letting you choose....
but his budget may not correspond to your choice, hence the walking away.
he loves you, he's just a little embarrassed.

My boyfriend says, have you ever thought that maybe he was trying to watch your facial expressions to get your reactions to the rings you were looking at,so he might get an idea of where your heart was or is interested in.in allaspects that go along with becoming engaged.Or maybe he gets a little turned on by admiring you from across the room, cause you know all that glittering and soft glowing of a jewlery store show case can make a woman look absolutely beautiful.

You didn't say what he does for a living, and just maybe the rings that you were looking at were not in a range that he could afford, guys get real funny about these things, maybe you should say to him I know that you would like for me to help pick out the ring but it would mean so much more to me if you did it by yourself

Maybe the act of looking at rings is making him nervous or he could have something up his sleeve (a surprise of sorts). You need to tell him that he really wasn't helpful today and that you want to know what was up with leaving everytime you looked in a case. His reaction and answer will give you clues about whether you need to be concerned or excited (about an upcoming proposal). I have a feeling that it is something good! Don't listen to these other losers's answers. Congratulations, girl!

Of course, you might have been embarrassed. In my own similar experience,i did the same thing just avoiding to help my then girl friend, who is my wife, thinking that I am leaving her full liberty or choice, and to indicate that I would purchase anything even costlier one to be herself. It never struck me at that time, that she would have or take my sincere option in a different angle, which is also right in her angle of thought. I could have helped, and it would have been more suiting on the occasion. But ,my inexperience,my attitude then to show of that I am prepared or that, even for selection a ring for the wedding I wanted her to feel that i am not interfering..now, after years of wedding and happy life,i repent for missing the combined effort and enjoyment of that particular purchase. The same may be the case,or reason with your bot friend.you are not to got no reason to get embarrassed,it might be purely out inexperience and wrong thought of pride, that might have allowed him to think you will certify for his this, act.it is you who might have took in wrong sense.you may be correct ,had he refused to buy what you selected.happy wedded life.enjoy life by understanding each more by openly asking and discussing.

first of all both of you sit and talk to each other and you ask him openly to shop together why he is doing that kind of thing . why he is behaving like that to you well i can see you are making lots of efforts for the engagements .men's usually avoid shopping with girls as girls need lots of time to decide what to buy . try to find out what is the reason behind it and then decide and make a budget ,don't worry best of luck take situation calmly

its because he just scared especially if its his first marriage but you all should go separately to look for your engagement ring it would probably be better for the both of you. or its because he's not ready to com mitt to a long lasting relationship but sit down and talk to him see whats going on maybe it will all work out.

Men hate shopping, and you're a clinging vine. Why don't you ask him what the budget is so you can pick it out yourself, or let him know the cut and if you want it on a gold/white gold or platinum band.

maybe he's got cold feet. or doesn't know much about jewelry and is embarrassed to admit it? "excited for you" puts up a red light though. this is supposed to be one of the most exciting times of your lives together ( kinda "tied" with child birth) maybe he's just really nervous, but he maybe should have said " this is so exciting for us" or similar sappy s@*t : )

You should not be with him when picking out an engagement ring. You should only be ring shopping with him when shopping for your wedding band
