A few days ago i asked about having morning sickness ... i have it all day now and it is getting worse. Im going to the Dr in the morning and i was wondering if anyone knows the name of the new medication that is out to help ease this ... this is my 3rd child and i am 7 weeks along... i heard that it is mixed with the prenatal vitamin ...Thanks....

Some women try b6 and saltines. *did not work for me darn it*
As for prescription drugs, your practitioner may suggest nausea medications such as Compazine or Tigan or the antihistamine Phenergan. (Note: Compazine and Phenergan should never be taken together.)
The drug Zofran, which was originally designed to control nausea in chemotherapy patients, may be effective for pregnant women, but it's very expensive and many insurers won't cover it.

I was given Vomifene and Asic. The Vomifene didn't seem to work at first till I discovered I was taking it wrong. You're supposed to take 2 tablets at night and 1 in the morning. It didn't stop the morning sickness but it made it a bit more bearable. The Asic actually made me sicker.
This isn't "new" medication though as most of the people I know who have been pregnant have tried Vomifene.

I'm sorry but I don't know about the new medicine, but what I do know about is Phenergan and I know it WORKS great. Try it! I was sick all day long too, and this helped sooooooo much. I wouldn't even bother with a new medicine if I had it all to do again, because I KNOW this one works just fine.

i don't know about any new meds, but what i did was have a glass of water and package of saltines next to my bed before i put my feet to the floor i ate some saltines. it worked for me hopefully it will for you too.

Phenergin (SP??? phenegrin???) is what they gave me, and it works wonders. If I take a whole pill, though, I'm pretty much knocked out, so I only take half of one.

They gave me Finnagrin, dont know if i spelled that right, but it was awsome...It completely stopped it for me. But that has been 10 yrs ago.

my doc would not give me anything new, and I threw up in her office. good luck, I was stuck with sominex and saltine crackers. but it was all worth it.
