Most of the time it is because of how the answer is phrased.

Several reasons:

1. Because they are retards
2. Because they hit the wrong thumb on accident
3. Because they are mad the other person gave a better answer
4. Because they have some really wacked out ideas
5. Because it's not the correct answer
6. Because they are retards
7. Etc.

The list goes on and on. Probably the most astounding thumbs down I have seen yet was a question asking opinions about a news article where a premie born very early survived the odds. The person answered that it was awesome and that the baby was a fighter. She got a thumbs down. Go figure.

Edit: You do however realize that people are going to thumbs down all the answers to this question now, don't you?

i think of this is that there are extremely some regulations to examine with the aid of, and probably many think of of the thumbs down option as something to show they disagree with the advice or the opinion. i will apply it to a troll or on suggestion that i be responsive to could desire to be fairly risky, like telling a individual who if a canine is throwing up blood on Friday, and could't raise this is head, wait till Monday and take it to the Vet and meanwhile provide it some aspirin. on the comparable time, i think of it helps to undergo in strategies that because of the fact somebody has a diverse perspective would not lead them to "incorrect" and the different individual "precise". Many questions and solutions on listed under are subjective.

You may consider it "truth" when you say;

- "the religious right starts wars for profit,"

- "Bush is a moron controlled by the PNAC "

- "We are facing the a major constitutional crisis driven by the rise Christian Right-wing extremists who's agenda is to pave the way for the Rapture and Armageddon. "

- and your belief that Bush was behind 9/11

But others will disagree & give you a thumbs down.

I kind of think they intend that it is taken personally. I might be #2 in politics for best answers, but I am #1 for thumbs down.

Considering who I get them from, its a badge of honor.

People thumbs down an answer if it doesn't support their point of view. It doesn't matter what the truth is.

Because they do not believe it, or can't handle the truth. I know what you mean. I have even seen correct answers to factual questions given the thumbs down.

Some people don't like to see the truth posted.

because many arent informed about issues, and rather than oppose it with intellectual arguements, they just finger it down because thats all they can do.

I say, dont finger down an answer unless you are going to give arguement why. And an intelligent arguement is best.

But then too many little kids, too many people who know only wahts being fed to them and dont even know whats being fed to them isnt the truth.
But you can pretty much tell who are the informed ones here and who isnt.
