Need a source on this one..... helmets were required in the mid 50's, Bob Montgomery played in the 70's...about 14 years after the helmet rule

Bob Montgomery was someone knows thier baseball. He did, but he was the last grandfathered in. Thats like Red Faber was the last legal spitballer, or Edd Rousch was the last surviviing Federal League player. I like questions like this
