I'm definitely waiting until end of 2nd/beginning of 3rd trimester to have my shower (so I'll be showing and pretty much out of the woods for most kinds of miscarriage and complications), and it sounds like we're due around the same time! My due date is September 15th. So June/July would be right in the same time frame I'm thinking about. A barbecue at that time of year would be really fun and appropriate. Good luck and congratulations!

A "babyque" sounds adorable. Great idea.

I had my baby shower about 2 months before my due date... but it really depends upon what works best for you. Some women have them sooner and some wait until after the baby is born and have sort of a welcoming party/baby shower. Do what YOU want. Have fun. Sounds like you have some cute ideas.

Congratulations on the forthcoming arrival of your little one.

Late July would be good, but are you giving a shower for yourself? Where I'm from, a shower is a gift from friends. It would be tacky to throw yourself a baby shower. The mother-to-be usually has input on time and date and list of names to invite but not the theme.

Around 7 months is a good time - so June/July is fine. By that time you know baby's health status and the gender (if you so choose). Nothing wrong with a BBQ as long as you don't eat too much of it and you are not the one on your feet all day doing the cooking.

I had my shower 2 months before I was due.

There is no rule for this. People just tend to have them in the 3rd trimester just to make sure the pregnancy is normal.

That sounds like fun!!! You can have one any time, but most have it when they are 7 or 8 months pregnant. Most pregnant women get really hot all the time, so keep that in mind. You might want to cook outside in the heat, but eating inside might be better for you if you live in a warm area.
