I think Eddie Murphy should have gotten the best supporting actor award for "DREAMGIRLS" over Alan Arkin, (I'm sorry but i didn't see little miss sunshine). Dont get me wrong, i love Mr Arkin's work in all the other movies but this was Murphy's night. Maybe they should start giving out awards for Best Comedy Movie/Actor/Actress and stop overlooking all these great comic actors, what do you think about it?

If you haven't seen Arkin's performance than how can you say Murphy gave a better performance. Doesn't make much sense. I haven't seen all five of the nominated performances so I can't say whether Murphy was robbed. The Academy has always favored dramatic performances over comedic ones. I think in many ways comedy is harder to do. The problem with categorizing is many films and performances straddle different categories.

I agree and I still say Eddie Murphy got robbed and I did see little miss sunshine and i love Mr Arkin in it but i don't think it deserved an oscar?

There are enough award shows that break down films into categories (drama, comedy, etc.). The Oscar goes to the best "performance" of the year, but the Academy rarely honors comic performances or comedies.

Cause it ain't the golden globes. They want it to be an elite few who get it.
