I stopped my birth control pills two months ago and had two normal (though somewhat short) periods. I'm mid-cycle in my third month without the pills, and have started to bleed. Is this normal?

Yes!! The pill can throw off your cycles for quite awhile. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are trying to get pregnant, and even then, it often takes a year or more to get your body ready for pregnancy.

Yes it can be. The pill regulates your periods in a fantastic fashion. Our bodies however can change whenever they feel like it. Some women are unfortunate enough to bleed for two weeks, or 3 days. Some get them every 2 weeks or longer than normal. Every one is different. Unless it gets very irregular including the flow of the bleeding I would not worry. If it is a bother to you, you may want to go back on the pill or see your doctor.

There will be some irregularity to be expected after you discontinue taking birth control pills. Blood flow will also vary and could be in extremes. Cramping may also occur.

If you visit the website of the pill you were taking, such as OrthoTriCyclen, they should have a long list of facts or of frequently asked questions you can browse through and see if your question is there.
