Smile at other's a lot, it helps to make you look easier to talk to, or smile back at.. If i'm ever around someone who smile's and laugh's alot, I always find it really easy to talk to them, because you know that they probably won't be rude. Also, know that you are always going to need to be yourself, and always be comfortable with yourself. If you like your style, hair, whatever else, keep it, because then you are able to walk around with your head up. Make it a goal everyday to say hey, or something simple to someone new everyday. Try to speak up in conversations that your around. Always keep your head up, with a relaxed look on your face, and when you make eye contact, remember to give them a polite smile. Even when someone doesn't smile back, it's their own problem. Just keep on keepin' on :)

Well lets see. I used to be just like you, as I got older the more confidence I became. Hmmmm find something that will make you happy and confidence is sorta tricky.
1) Get a haircut- new hairstyle will boost your confidence, people will start noticing you and they comment you on how your hair look.
2) Evaluate your friends, are your friends boring and entrovert like you? I don't mean this in a bad way, so don't take it the wrong way.
3) Say hi to everyone that you see, and don't wait til someone say hi to you.
4) change your wardrove, do you think you need new jeans? try something, something that will make you happy.
5) Don't worry this paste in your life will go away. Mine went away and now I can't get my mout shut. I went from very shy to never shutting off mouth, Don't ask me how I did it, like I said it will eventually go away. You do have to help yourself by evaluating the way you carry on yourself, like clothing, hairstyle, cologne, friends, etc. You will be ok. One day you will remember this.

Get involved with helping others. Volunteer at a charity like Habitat for Humanity or Meals on Wheels. If you focus on others rather than on yourself, you will be much more approachable.

I really recommend you join a local Toastmasters Club - they are expert at working with shy or reserved people and once you get the knack of speaking in public, you will be a transformed person who can reach for the stars.... do try - you have everything to gain and nothing to loose ! :)

Hold you head up when you walk. Don't turn away right away as to not look people in the eye. Try to say hi to someone as your walking.

i'm taking toastmasters right now (for free). it somewhat helped me. the best thing i would recomend is to change your look. you have to feel comfortable with yourself before you can present yourself to others. get a new haircut (i'm getting one tomorrow). don't expect to be confident overnight.
best of luck
