i am sicilian, and first of all, they are NOT caucasian. This is because:
The term Caucasian originated as one of the racial categories recognised by 19th century craniology — and is derived from the region of the Caucasus mountains. The caucasus mountains are in eastern europe/russia.
Sicilians are generally mixed (italian/greek/african), but who isnt mixed these days - just definitely not caucasian.

Most I know are mixed race. My stepfather's family was from India before going to Sicily, and they lived in Ali' (Messina province) for about 200 years before coming to the US.
