depending on the kind of test, some can be taken as early as 10dpo, but the best way to make sure you have enough HCG in your system is to wait about a week after you have missed your period and use First of the morning urine for best results.

Implantation generally occurs between 6-10 days after ovulation/conception. However some women expierence implantation bleeding at different times and nearly 2/3 of women never get implantation bleeding (of course it could have been there, they just weren't looking for it, etc.) anyway First Response, an early results test, may be able to tell 5 days before your period is due, (a blood test at the drs may be able to tell slightly sooner) so this would be March 5th as the earliest day. If you get a negative result on this test but no period it may have just been too early to test so you should test again in that case.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

Implantation for me came at exactly 6 days later but it could also happen anywhere from 6-12 days, I'm not sure about it happening early or not. And I wouldn't take a hpt until you've missed your period, I didn't wait and I took lots of hpt too early and it only made me sad : ( but when it was time for my period and it never showed i took 2 tests and they both popped up positive! Yea! the reason you should wait is because your hcg level isn't really large enough to be detected by a hpt. but you never know.... good luck!!!!

Implantation can happen 5-10 days or more after ovulation. I would wait till 4 days before your missed period and then take the First Response Early Result pregnancy test.

You're supposed to take the test on the day your period was due (implantation for me happend 2 weeks after that).
I took the test (EPT brand) 4 days before my period was due and it came out positive right away! I was shocked! I had been trying for so long...
good luck!
