When will his new crime resolution policies start working? Just Friday the MEC for community safety Fivoz Cachalia and his wife were robbed. The time is running out because if his solution isn't going to start kicking in soon the whole parliament and all top level government officials are going to become victims of crime perceptions!

So what you are all saying is that crime is not a perception but Thabo being the president is... Daing! Next thing someone from the governemnt will tell us Manto's sudden illness is just a perception.

He can have as many Policies as he likes but he hasnt got a solution, not that he cares as he is safe with his new wall and security guards. He talked about an additional 30,000 Police by 2010 but if you consider the present quality of "Policemen" then it is just another burden on the taxpayer. Worldwide it is accepted that throwing money and additional Police at an out of control crime situation does not bring about a solution. It starts in the home with the values kids learn and what they see in public. In South Africa you have Politicians who have criminal convictions and an ANC unwilling to deal with them because if they did there would be no Politicians left. You have other so called Leaders frequently making public statements that it is OK to steal from Whites because they are just taking back what they are entitled to. Cachalia is another ANC liar who made statements about he would resign if he could not improve the crime situation within 6 months. Well that has come and gone, the crime is now worse in certain categories according to Insurance Companies and he is still there denying certain statements he made and completely obfuscating the whole issue. I am sure most South Africans laugh their heads off when they hear one of the ANC cronies has become a victim of crime and think it couldn't have happened to a nicer person. Watch them increase his personal security whle the rest are left to be preyed upon by the savages that roam the streets.

I wasn't aware Mbeki had any crime policies other than denial and blaming poverty and apartheid for the crime issue.
I don't believe the crime issue will ever be seriously addressed by the ANC government, when it is a guaranteed income generator for them, as well as a reason for many minority groups to emigrate which is exactly what they want.

Crime??????? honestly what crime it's only a perception!!!! that's what they say at least for now ,until the R90 million wall fails to keep out the criminal element and they too suffer as all ordinary citizens of all races do every day of their lives.

Never because it does not exist there is no such thing he just keeps on saying that to keep everyone of his back
If there were then why is he busy building a wall around his house which so expensive it is worth more than most of the salaries that people in south african receive in 2years time

As regards the employing of a new minister of health as well, I think that old Mbeki might have to "apply his mind" to the question of any sort of crime policy first. Bottom line- don't count on it any time soon.
