I'm 39 weeks and 3 days today : ) and all day today I've been nesting like crazy! It's weird though because usually I'm so tired and exhausted that all I wanna do is sit and relax (hard to do with a two year old...). Just wondering if anyone has experienced the nesting "fever" close to labor coming? Thanks so much, just looking for some fun, honest answers! Thanks!!!

Ok its an old wives tale but I think there is a little truth.
I did it at 26weeks (yes 26 weeks) and I told my doctor and he laughed and said "dont you dare have it this soon"...
welllllll
2 weeks later I had her. I was 28weeks pregnant.
My other pregnancies, I wouldnt say I had a nesting phase happening.. more like.. alot of energy that needed to be expelled!
And yes I had them within a week of the "nutty psycho cleaning cooking mowing sewing walking lady"

it is not an old wives tale. all women and animals for that matter go through a nesting stage. since you are so far along then yes i would say you will be delivering very soon but just for the record not every women goes through her nesting the last week or so. some women are as early as 6 months experience that nesting instinct. some, in fact go through it on and off the entire pregnancy and others right at the end like yourself. congratulations, it won't be long now.
i am 37 weeks right now and started dilating a week ago but it is hard to tell how much longer for me. it could be tomorrow or in 3 weeks. i have not got the nesting thing yet with this one but with my other children i went through that early.

I nested at 37 weeks and my son was born at 39 weeks, but my nesting faze lasted for a whole week i scrubbed the floors with a scrub brush, and polished the furniture 3 times a day and washed my sons clothes twice a day and constantly fixed his bed and organized his clothes and sadly, i polished my b/f's shoes lol... I think nesting is a close sign that labor is coming it came for me with in a week after i got done with my nesting faze lol... good luck, i know how hard it is with a little one running around .

Oh yes, I was nesting a lot the last week of both pregnancies. It was like I knew I should be resting but I was too busy organizing, wiping, and folding edges to be perfect.
