Seriously, do you want to be a non-smoker? Or do you secretly just want to keep smoking and just can't bring yourself to admit it out loud? I won't tell anyone.

I haven't had a cigarette in 6 weeks.

But it is no easier today, than it was the first day I didn't have one.

Every single day I think to myself "I could just have one and not tell anyone - nobody would ever know".

Thankfully, I haven't caved in as yet, and I hope to god that I don't.

Now talking about it has made me want a cigarette! THANKS!

Unless you have been addicted to nicotine you have no idea how hard it is to quit. The strength of the cravings has been compared to heroin addiction.
It took me a long time to get to the point where I could quit and my motivation was that I met a man that is very allergic to smoke. We are now married and I have been nicotine free for almost 7 years.

Okay, honestly, I have quit several times but I keep going back to it because... I like it! There is something about it, and I don't think it's just the nicotine addiction. I know all the yuckiness that comes from smoking (smelling bad, bad for your health, and the extreme environmentalists would say "immoral behavior") but there is something that draws me back.

i quit many times unsuccessfully using patches and medication because my boyfriend wanted me to, or all my friends were quitting. then i decided i was fianally sick of it, and i quit cold turkey with minimal discomfort. it has been 6 months and i'm now disgusted by cigarettes.
