There are lots of different kinds of wisdom. My grandmother could never have understood a computer or even her VCR, but she was very wise. She knew how dramatic life feels at 20 and how things change and how they change you. She never seemed to forget what it was like to be young. My mom, never seems to remember. She really doesn't have that kind of wisdom. She has a great deal of knowledge though. I strive to take the good from each of them. I always try to see each person as they are, from their point of view and judge them by their own standards, not mine. I try to acquire as much knowledge as I can. I always remember that I knew everything when I was 18 and don't hold it against younger people.
I think that wisdom is earned, but just being old doesn't guarantee you have earned it.
I'm almost 30.

If you look up the definition of wisdom it will refer to experience. It stands to reason depending upon what you're talking about if you are only sixteen and I am 20 and where talking about doing the same thing then I would have more experience than you in doing it simply because I did it longer than you. But if I have never done it before you would have more wisdom than me on that topic. In general a unless a person had no type of life experience a person twice his or her age could not be as wise.

I am 24. Great Question.
I do believe that wisdom comes with age. In my culture it is important that we respect our elders for their wisdom. We do not have to agree with them to know that what they are saying comes from experience. With that much experience their opinion is to be honored and respected.
Sometimes though things such as racism and ignornace become so ingrained in a person the older they get. This is obviously not wisdom.
So, yeah it depends on the person. But if you have a good person with general common sense and compassion to start with then the answer is definately yes.

To be honest, no. Not necessarily. In fact, I personally have seen people do more stupid things the older they get, and really lack insight as to why they do it.
Some people are just wiser than others. The ones that appear to lack wisdom had it all along, they just simply chose to ignore it previously.
I am 25.
And wise enough to know that I know very little.

I think wisdom comes from experience and your personal interest in life. Some people care to learn alot, and other people couldnt even tell you who the current president is! It all depends on the person, age aint nothing but a number!

Yes it certainly does!!! I am in still within the young tender age of 25 and I notice my attitude toward my direction in life and the differences between now and when I graduated from high school. I can say within this short time that I am on a direct to a goal. Where when I graduated I totally felt lost and confused to were I was heading in life and now my outlook is different. I realize that I have more growing to do but to come this far so little time in my thinking and actions daily I will say that it is a blessing!!! I think that as we grow and mature with age we learn from the mistakes that we made within previous years and that is were our wisdom kicks into gear because we do not ever want to make the same bad mistakes again. So when we see the similarities of the past starting to occur we think of a better way to avoid the disaster again so to speak. So yeah wisdom comes with age and learning from past mistakes to avoid them in the future......lol thanks for letting me ramble!!!

Wisdom comes from learning from mistakes/failures and successes, your own and others. Life is one big learning experience so yes and no, you grow wiser as time passes by. But only if you are intelligent enough to learn on your way through life.

No. Wisdom comes from an open mind and a willingness to understand. Some people go throughout their whole lives without either.

I think Wisdom comes with experience. There are a lot of teenagers that have experienced more things than the elderly ever have. I haven't experienced much yet (24yrs old), but can't wait to! Good luck with this.
