For me to read? Some books I really enjoyed were Uglies (by Scott Westerfield) and Flipped (the book with an upside down chicken on it). I also liked things by Sharon Creech. I disliked The Hobbit. Any suggestions?

Flipped was a good book. ;)
anyway, some of my favorite books are
The Autobiography of my Mother by Jamaica Kincaid(about a girl whos mother died while she was born and her whole life goes down because she has never been there)

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (about a black girl that desires all her life to be white so her whole life is kinda screwed because she believes she is ugly)

The Best Little Girl in the World by Steven Levenkron (about a girl who suffers from anorexia nervosa- a disease where people believe they are obese and starves themseleves to death)

The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne (you probably wolnt like it because its hard to understand-big words- but its a really good book if you have the SAT edition where the definition of words are given. This is about a woman who was married but out of love had an affair with a guy- but remember, she was married- and ended up having a baby. she was shunned and was forced to wear a scarlet letter "A" on her clothing. youll know what the "A" stands for later)

Caucaisa by Danzy Senna (about a half black and white girl growing up in a racially divided world)

and lastly,

The Darkest Child by Delores Phillips (about a girl who grows up in a place and time where being the darkest child in the family means being treated as if one were nothing)

as you can see, i am very atimate about my books. these are just some of my favorite books i have read.

i hope you enjoy them as much as i did. happy reading! :)

Have you read the rest of the Uglies trilogy? Pretty and Specials? They're good too. You might be interested in reading his other books. I've found all of them to be enjoyable. So Yesterday. The midnighters trilogy. Peeps and Last Days.

Other books similar to Uglies...
Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger by Lois Lowry (3 books)
Rash by Pete Hautman
Surviving Antarctica: Reality TV 2083 by Andrea White

"Cadilac Beach" by Tim Dorsey is a riot.

"Beer Blast" by Phillip Van Munching is an interesting look at history of beer in the later half of the 20th Century, especially the advertizing aspects.

"Riding The Rap" by Elmore Leonard is a great crime story, why it hasn't been turned into a movie yet is beyond me.

The Harry Potter books are absolutely amazing. I am sure you've heard of them, but they're by J.K. Rowling.. There are 6 books currently, and the 7th and final book is going to be released this summer I believe. Hope this helps!

I didn't read it, but my sister read it and said it was one of the best books she had ever read. It's short, but it's called "The Five People you Meet in Heaven" I believe.
