It seems to me the world polluted a lot more in the past and we survived. Yet it never seems to be enough for the wacko environmentalists. I'm not for wanton polluting ,but we need some common sense here people. We're not destroying the planet

Sorry, but there is simply no other way to say it: You're wrong. Oh, and to answer your question: No.

part of the problem is our history of polluting, it was not more polluted overall in the past, just in certain areas, and deforestation did not become an issue until a few decades ago. Common sense dictates that you need to look at the facts, accept that there is a frightening problem here, and that while our abuse of the planet has gotten out of hand, environmentalism has a long way to go before we even get things back in hand.

The world is being polluted more every day and will continue to increase as the amount of technology increases unless people become concerned and do something about it.

We just need common sense solutions for the whole world to follow. Of course todays cars, factories, etc. are more efficient and produce less waste, but, that is not to say they don't produce waste. But more can be done, and needs to be done, because in fact we are destroying the planet. When the entire scientific community can agree on this fact, when even our president, who isn't exactly an eco-warrior concedes points in this, you can pretty much believe it.

Yeah, seeing as how in 1975 they were saying we were at the forefront of the next ice age- this whole global warming bit seems a bit far-fetched if you actually read information on ALL sides, not just the proponents supporting the warming trend. I doubt the weather forecasters back in the 1700's had accurate radar and storm tracking capabilities.

Amen to that! Thank you so much. It really is getting a little too crazy. I totally respect that people want to protect the environment and stuff, but I wish they wouldn't go to such extremes.
