We are doing a memorial for my grandparents. my mom wants to put a picture of them on something and inset it in a log with a plaque below it. She thinks just laminating the picture will make it OK. i think we need to put the picture on something - i have seen pictures put on plates and such - but i think that may not work either. So does anyone have any suggestions on what would work and could be inset on a wood that would not get easily ruined. This will be outside. Thanks in advance. Oh and we will be polying over the whole thing. But still i don't think a laminated picture would last long.

Get the contact phone number off of different brands of laminate/poly and call the company and explain to them your dilemma. I work in retail and when I can't answer a question similar to yours, I call the manufacturer of the product and their specialists can usually recommend the best item for the project.
Good luck!

I'm pretty sure lamenating it will work. I've had stuff for years that have been lamenated and they have been fine. Maybe a heavy lamenate. The pictures I've had so far have been lamentated for 15 years are stilll good.
