...and how unreasonable it is that there are more of us?
I'm totaly baffled by what is going on in the country and I'm sure some of you will agree a sure as most will conform and accept it as it is. The big companies are owning us. There are more lower class consumers. They make the cheapest TV they can make so that everyone can buy one, we buy their crap, and they get richer. The government is afraid of the market in the sense that they don't know how to aproach this handful of BIG companies, without them getting touchy and gettign in a legal battle, the companies can "afford" and forcing their hand into D.C., by way of their lobbyists, to "convince" senators to pass bills in their favor. The words "war profiteer" come to mind. Still CEOs get richer than the president himself. If the president had no military command he would just be a public service figure. About this war, sadly, we need the oil. If we run out before other countries, we couldn't fly our bombers to protect ourselve

Americans conform because we don't care. We are hypnotized by the media and we point the finger at someone else to fix it because we are too busy watching "must see TV" on our 52" screens, made in China of course..

I don't just blame those at the top in corporations. We want to buy our crap cheaper and cheaper at Wal-Mart, sending manufacturing jobs to China. Stockholders expect huge dividends, therefore forcing companies to look at the bottom line at the expense of workers. So they outsource jobs to India.

Americans demand cheap gas for our enormous SUV's, so let's bomb small oil-producing countries.

Until WE wake up and start caring about something beyond "American Idol" and what the stars are wearing to the Oscars, and realizing the implication to future generations and the environment, it's going to get worse.

What good would it do? We can question all we want but until the majority of the population takes a stand against what's going on and stops playing the victim, talk will remain just that-talk.

Without these terrible big companies you would not have a job, so no income, so no food, so you would starve to death. Then again that's not a bad idea.
