Yeah, of course it doesn't make sense to lie to your doctor, but that doesn't mean everything a sick person does makes sense.

A doctor represents an authority figure in several ways, knowledge, wealth, control of the space (dr's office), etc. A sick person can easily be intimidated by the doctor's demeanor, especially if the doctor seems to be struggling with time.

A scared person will often lie to quicker escape a foriegn environment.

I've lied to doctors and not even realized it until later.

It makes no sense to lie to the doctor.
If you were going to lie you might as well stay home. If you have insurance, you still have to pay him to make a health assessment based on false information. If you don't, you da mn sure won't lie cause your'e paying out of pocket.

In addition, what would I be afraid he would say? It would be different if abusing your body was against the law.

I ahve heard people say "you gotta die from something."

The doctor is just there to tell you when.
