(small example)
I play guitar and I was asking myself today, why am I able to do what many can't? It sounded simple but as the night progressed I kept thinking about it and it became a debate in my mind between the sciences. Is it something psychological? Physiological? I thought, "what makes me different from you?" and vice-versa?

Has that ever happened to you? What seperates you from the herd?

God makes us different, each child "unique".

Would you want all your kids to be the same without a unique "attribute", personality or "inherint" skill ?

Each person is unique in some twist or mannerism or "gift" that seems to come "naturally" but is a "gift" from above.

I have the gift of love, very deep emotions for those I love and others. I also have a gift of being able to fix just about anything "even" this stupid computer "which" i really know nothing about nor received any training, but have a "intuitivness" on "what" to try in the repair or manufacturing of most things, ....
alas "all " but the human heart

Always been this way since childhood.

People feel they are different because they are the ONLY person that they can see from the inside out. Every, and I mean EVERY other person has to feel, view, hear, sense, from the outside first.

Some people are great at sharing who they are and it gives us insight into the psyche, but it isn't the same as evaluation from the only person that can possible evaluate the inner you.

You have no other option but to be different. Just like every other person.

Live well~

if placed in identical situations, what makes one person succeed and another fail miserably, even though both might have the knowledge and the desire to accomplish said task?

it DOES sound simple, agreed, but the strange and special combination of fingering, rhythm, ear, and talent that allows you to play your guitar is unique to you alone. especially in music, someone can be a technically flawless performer, and yet lack the quality of 'heart' (a flaw itself, perhaps, that gives character?) that a more beloved musician might possess.

how? my experiences in life, and my skills, and even my luck and karma, if you care to carry it that far, have combined to give me an individual style, a flair (not to sound vain, we ALL have one) that is as unique as my fingerprints. and the way i feel 'in my skin' about life experiences is a result of what i've been able to do so far, and where i believe i may be able to continue to proceed with some success. i wonder too, are others 'in their skin' as aware (or oblivious) as i? curious to imagine, isn't it?

identical twin studies may interest you. even though identical twins often grow up strikingly similar, there are still marked differences in talent and behavior. psychology texts about emotion and behavior are full of fascinating anecdotes, and i'd suggest you read up on them if you haven't already to help you answer your question.

perhaps the answer is as simple as recognizing that you're an individual IN the herd... that makes you separate.

yes,but not in a ,lets say ,a physical, talented kind of way.I always feel"different from others in a thought and action kind of way.I sometimes just can not for the life of me comprehend the way others think and come to do some of the things they do or say, morally or ethically.I get reminded of the Wizard Of OZ movie and the scarecrow"if I only had a brain" line when I have to think about the actions &repercussions of others.
I hope you could .sort that out and know what I'm trying to say to relate to you.

What makes us different is that we are not the same. We were given different talents, abilities, and environments. We also made different choices.
