I found a piece of pottery that is painted black in the inside, dark brown rim, and painted yellow or tanish on the outside with like brown specks. It is made out of clay...i guess. I'm not sure if it could be indian and i found it on a creekbed.

Here is what you should do. Return it to the nearest local tribe. If it is Native pottery it is not yours to keep. Finders keepers doesn't apply. In fact there are laws about this. The right thing to do is return it to tribal people, I am sure they will greatly appreciate it.

Depends on where you found it(what part of the country) or if someone you know makes pottery in the Southeastern tradition.
