How do I improve the latency of my midi controller through my Cubase software?

I'm using an O2 M-Audio midi controller, and a Tascam US-122 audio interface, and I'm running Cubase on a laptop with a Pentium M processor and 512 mb of RAM. No matter how few programs I'm running, I always get a half-second delay whenever I press the keys on my midi controller. Please help!

Download the AISO for all wdm driver. It will allow most computers to run at almost no latency.
