how long does it take for the moon to travel all the way around the earth.... and how many times(or how far) does the moon go around earth in one day?

The moon on average is about 384,000km from the earth's surface. Now, the math behind this, and you probably haven't learned this yet, is simply the equation for the circumference of a circle, c=2(pi)r
Solving for this gives you 2,410,000km. The moon's velocity is 3700km/hr so, again, doing your math, (using this method your answer is exact because you have to factor in the fact that the moon is in centripetal acceleratio, but it's close enough), we get 652 hours roughly. Divide this by 24 to get the number of days the moon takes to make its orbit and get 27.2 days. There ya go, the physics behind it. Also, you can figure that the moon thus goes about 88,600km in one day. Yay :]
