I agree with the Velveteen Rabbit and it has very deep meaning which most of you probably already know. It means in life when you are real and honest and tell the truth, you will lose your fur and become kind of "used"looking, but you will be loved by real people because you are real and not a deceiver or false type person. Be who you are !!! You will be loved for who you are and not how you look, for how you look will fade with time just like the Velveteen rabbit, I know, I'm 56 :) and real

Mine too was teh Velveteen Rabbit.. I just loved how if the bunny beleived he was real then he was.. I always loved the part about the bunnies in the field checking out the "stuffed bunny" and how they could do things that he longed to do and how he was finally able to do it all in the end.. GREAT STORY
Nowadays I LOVE to read my kids "I love you forever" I think it has a beautiful message..

It was called "Goodbye Pink Pig" I think. Something about the book really rang true to me. I was very similar to the main character in the short novel. I don't even remember much about the plot, I just remember loving it.
Anyone else ever read that book?

The Monster at the End of This Book!!!
Oh my goodness, I still love this book. It's Grover being afraid of the end of the book b/c he's seen the title, so he does everything he can to stop the reader from turning the page. Apparently, I had my older sister read it to me 100s of times. I still get a kick out of it.

The Trixie Belden Mystery Series because it was the perfect family, two teenage best friends who solve mysteries, and it was an excellent escape from a dysfunctional home. I have the entire collection still and sometimes I go back and read it still.

The Little House on the Prairie Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
I grew up in the midwest, relatives were farmers, and I liked imagining that I was Laura.
