Every now and then I see a commerical for if you had a stroke, ext. on ortho (something) to call them. I didn't take that particular pill but I did take ortho tri cyclen. I had mini strokes on them and have a mri that shows a small area of dead brain cells (1 cm) I think that was how big it was. Should I call that number and see if they do ortho tri cyclen too? Or do you know any settlements about ortho tri cyclen. I actually haven't been hearing anything about it lately.

The drug you are inquiring about is ortho evra, a birth control patch which has been known to cause serious blood clots and possibly death. Since that warning given last year the sale of this form of birth control has dropped dramatically. Ortho tri cyclen comes in a pill form and considered safer, but with all drugs there is always the risk of side effects.

What you are referring to is the Ortho Evra patch which is made by the makers of ortho tri cyclen, there have been reported cases of people having strokes or heart attacks while on the patch, but to my knowledge there have been no reported settlements or judgements against the Ortho Tri Cyclen pills..but i can tell you this, any for of birth control or anything foreign to your body has a risk,,all medicines do..in the Ortho Tri Cyclen pill they warn you about blood clots that can cause strokes and heart problems, especially if you have a history in your family and or you smoke and are over the age of 35..Im no them now and i think im having problems also, everybodys body doesnt react the same,,and if you had mini strokes while on the pill maybe you should come out and sue them and be the first one i bet there will be others that have had problems,,

I take Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and I haven't had any problems like that. I would talk to your doctor just in case. I've never heard of any settlements about the birth control. Ortho is the only one I've been able to take.
