yes it's part of PMS
during ovulation, there is a surge of estrogen levels in our bodies, which causes the food cravings.
what type of foods you are craving depends on which vitamins, or minerals you are low on before starting your period.
if you crave sugary stuff-it's due to your glycemic index (amout of sugar in your blood) being too low for your body to support having your period. so by you eating the sugar-you raise the glucose level in your body up to a sufficient level

I think so. I always get the munchies before my period. Watch it though, eating too much munchies will cause you to gain weight. Try to eat healthy snacks if the munchies happen. My downfall is ice cream. :)

i always get the munchies about two days before which last until two days after my period i do not stop eating chocolate or crisps or anything sweet but as long as your fit and you exercise then you will not put on weight. my boyfriend told me to try and eat popcorn cuz that does not contain much fat aslong as you do not buy the butter/toffee one.

Yes this is normal. Your hormones work in funny ways around this time. Munchies, mood swings, bloating. Don't you love being a woman?

VERY normal...why? i don't know! just, PLEASE, for the sake of the world, STAY AWAY FROM SALT, AND CHOCOLATE!!!!
if all of the women who read this (and the men share this with their ladies) could do this for 2 or 3 months, we will all see a difference!
