If the absences have written excuses, say by a parent or doctor, then no, they cannot hold you back. But, each school's policy for absence is different and varies. Why not try this novel idea...Stay in school.
Because yes, they can and do hold people back for missing too much school, even when the absences are excused. Especially if they believe it would benefit the student to do so. Do the right thing, show up. Learn. Unless being a homeless, sidewalk jockey the rest of your life appeals to you.

If they are excused AND you have made up all your work and are getting good grades, probably not. The district I work in can hold you back for failing so many classes. If someone has called you in You should be OK as long as you are passing. Please don't skip anymore school though or you might find out you can't get caught up.

if you live in Florida they can. if you miss 4 consecutive days(unexcused) or more than 9 days per semester even if they are excused. doesn't matter if you are passing or not. your parents would have to prove to the school that you were out legitimately or they could fail you.

It's possible, but if you make up your work and pass your classes, it's pretty unlikely. (Unless, of course, your school has ridiculous attendance policies that involve you failing if you miss a certain percentage of classes--this happens at the college level sometimes.)

only if you're failing, i've missed a total of 11 days last semester, and my grades were horrible (tough time), but then i raised them, and i passed! (barely.)
stop skipping and get your grades up!

It depends on your school. I skipped a total of over 300 classes in my senior year and nothing happened to me. I think it depends on your school rules and whether you are still getting your work done or not.

You should probably stop skipping school. And talk to your school counselor. To find out.
