I've known this lady since i was a little girl.I look up to her as an aunt and we used to be very close.but sometimes i question if she really cares about me like she says.One reason because i found out she lied to me about somethings and she doesn't know i know.she has really hurt me and dissappointed me in alot of ways. sometimes i wish i never opened my heart to her because now it makes me a little stand offish with others its like its hard for me to trust other people.And I don't want to be bitter to people i meet in the future.do you have any advice???

You need all different kinds of people in your life to develope character. You also need all kinds of good and bad experiences.
If you never met a bad person, how could you appreciate the good. All you can do is take every person with an open mind and let time determine wether they're good or not.
Also, If someone's a negative influence in your life, why are they that way? What is it that makes that person lie orr untrustworthy.
Maybe if you sit down with this woman and ask her about herself you'll learn something about her that you never knew, and it might explain why she is that way.

I do wonder why certain people are in my life. Do not know if it is fate, karma or just dumb luck.
Sorry to hear about your aunt. She probably doesn't care about you like she says. So keep your distance and see when and if you can ever trust her again. Someday when you feel safe you might tell her how you were wronged. This will bring closure to the problem, but also might close the relationship too.
Alas .. the phrase .. "trust in God, but tie your camel" comes to mind.
Be careful and try not to be bitter; surly you will find some other good people in the world.

Each person in your life has a different purpose. It is important that you discover it. The lie that she told you, was it something that could have hurt you emotionally or physically and that is why she lied? If you found out that she lied and she means a lot to you and you don't sit down and talk to her about it, then you are also lying to her and it becomes a cycle. So, you either sit down and talk about it, get some resolution and move on or you end the relationship. Either way, you need to talk to her because if you have known her that long, you both deserve and explanation.

I think that you should talk to her about it. Tell her that you know she lied and ask her why. She may have a good explanation. If not, try not to be bitter. There are always going to be people in life that will disappoint you. Just keep your heart open - continue to give love and you will find people that you can trust and that will truly care about you.

Yes, ever since I was asked to act out at Perry Jr High by chasing a fellow student with a machete throguh the class I have wondered the same thing. After that was done the teacher asked the class to tell what they saw.
Shortly after that at S Broward HS I was asked by the FBI to join them.
After that some of my classmates disappeared or "died"

Always give people the benefit of the doubt. Not everyone is out to hurt you, but there are plenty that are. You have to learn to read people and pay attention to details. Once you have mastered that, you should be able to pick the good from the bad most of the time.
It helps to read plenty of psychology, sociology, & psychiatry books. Find out what makes people tick and what to look for in people.
