Don't you think it's good that we went to war with Iraq and trying to make a great government for Iraq?
Sadam was just like Hitler, he killed millions of his own people. Do you think it's fair, we saved the jews in the holocaust, but even then we didn't save them until a couple years later after the government found out.
We are helping the people and saving millions of lives from being killed.

Finally someone I can agree with. While Saddam did not kill millions, his death toll was right up there with the other dictators. But I completely agree with you, regardless of whether or not Saddam had WMDs, he was an evil man who needed to be taken out. Now Iraq has a Democracy and people are voting. The Police and Military Forces are becoming strong as well. Every week I'm hearing about an incident prevented by Iraqi police or x amount of insurgents killed by Iraqi forces. Things are starting to improve over there.

reshadow31,Saddam came to power in 1979.
President of Iraq from July 16, 1979, until April 9, 2003.[4] [5]
A leading member of the revolutionary Ba'ath Party, which espoused secular pan-Arabism, economic modernization, and socialism, Saddam played a key role in the 1968 coup that brought the party to long-term power. As vice president under the frail General Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr, Saddam tightly controlled conflict between the government and the armed forces—at a time when many other groups were considered capable of overthrowing the government—by creating repressive security forces.

All this is fine, but it would be well to remember that the reason was to abate the threat of Saddam's WMD. By June of 2002, he was feeling the heat, and shuffled them off to Syria -- several thousand tons of material. Presumably, they are still there, but without trained people to develop and use them, they are not much of a threat. Should Taliban and al Qaeda take over Iraq, or even a significant part of it, that could change.

We didn't save the Jews in the Holocaust! FDR knew about the Holocaust as far back as 1939, when a boat load of them were sent here to escape the horror. Not only would FDR not allow them to disembark, but he threatened Cuba with sanctions if they let the Jews disembark there! All of them went back to Germany to their deaths.
I agree with your underlying thoughts, but you really do need to get your facts straight before you try to use them in an argument that will have a great deal of opposition.

Who is the US to say what is a great government, yes I live in the US but I also understand that we are not the big brother of the world, and so many people seem to forget that the reason Sadam was in power was because the US put him there in the first place. It seems that we had to go over there not to go to war on terrorists but to clean up our own mess.

saddam is nothing like hitler. he was no where near as bad. read some history, so some research.
you can't compare hitler to anyone- no one has come close to emulating him.
and iraq is from far being close to germany in the 30/40s

Who cares what he was doing in Iraq. What I care about is what will keep me and other Americans safe. What has wasting money and lives to improve the living quality for another country done for us? Oh! by the way the Sadam and Hitler comparison is pathetic. We went to war with Germany because Germany told us that we are now at war. My recommendation study History, not repeat it, and not diminish it by making ridiculous comparisons.

Technical it wasn't just that Saddam Used Chemical attacks on the Kurds,or Iranians. He broke the Gulf war ceasefire 20+ times shooting at US warplanes. That alone was enough under the UN ruling,to remove Saddam by force.
But the fact that Saddam trained Zarkawie in the hijackings was a act of war in my book.
Bottom line, agree or disagree with the war Saddam was a bad guy who got what he deserved.

War is for the over 60's. Lets face it ... they don't have much to look forward to after a few more years, so "lets make a name for ourselves" ..... I have had a few American Country Music Singers over here during the past month touring and they all believe Bush should go. They don't want any war, and they want their countrymen out of there. Wars have been going on for thousands of years (all religious) .... so why the hell don't you just drop the bomb on them. New Zealand is completely Nuculear Free ... and we're going to keep it that way.
