Start small on things so you won't be as afraid of say, jumping a huge set of stairs or dropping in a half-pipe. Also, it's really important not to think too much about doing something. Often, if you're afraid and hold back, then you would start overthinking the bad things that can happen and then fear would overtake you. Just go for things. If you fall, you'll know how it feels and be less afraid of it happening. There are also things where holding back will cause injury, so you have to commit completely to what you are doing. Just take a deep breath and do it.

wow.
If any skater didnt go through the fear stage of skating, their lucky.
I absolutely hated being fearful
Here are some things you can try:
1. Let your ego/pride help you
alot of times this helps me alot because i have an ego. When everyone else is afraid, i tell them im not afraid. this way, i have to do it just to prove to them im not (even though im scared to death)
2. Work your way up.
Dont immediately try to ollie a five stair if you are afraid to ollie a three. i dont know what your thinking of when you say that you have a mental block, but whether its dropping in or doing a large set of stairs, this is one of the best ways to get over it.
(for dropping in, start on a ramp instead of a qtr pipe/hlf pipe then try a little quarter pipe and then a bigger quarter pipe, and then try it on a halfpipe)
3. Just go for it.
alot of skateboarding is just mind over matter. So even if you know you can do it, your body tells you not to do it. So, what you need to do, is just GO FOR IT. Overcome your body's fear, suck it up, and just go for it.
I know that some of these might not seem like they'll help, but try as hard as you can to use them. Because they dont seem like alot of help, but after youve done them, you realize how easy it really was.
GOOD LUCK! and happy skateboarding

I have had the same problem. The key { For me } was to get comfortable on your skateboard. Try duck-walking or going down hills and stuff like that. Try going fast. Once you get so comfortable you can ride with your eyes closed, start doing some tricks.

Stretch till now skating. it will make you extra 'loose' and stop you from pulling any muscular tissues. additionally attempt to in basic terms take some deep breaths and loosen up. You cut back to rubble extra once you do a million/2-assed tricks, fairly than in simple terms positioned all your power into it optimistically. :-)

Maybe you are tired to hear this.
"Practice a lot."
Don't force yourself.
Do it slowly, soon or later,
it will be very fun.
