I have a couple of questions reguarding Motorcycles. I'm looking to buy a bike. I've never road one before. Who do I contact to get motorcycle lessons? How much does it cost. What type of license do I need to ride one. I like Cruisers. Thanks for your help!

Since you like cruisers I suggest you call your local Harley dealer and ask about riding classes. They furnish you with a small bike to learn the coordination and the handling principles. They teach you the dynamics that make a bike do what it does. Then they guide you through a course laid out on a blacktop parking lot until you are comfortable with handling the bike. If you do well and so far everyone has, you will be given your license by a member of the DMV on the last day of your class. It is a bit more expensive than some other classes, but you get to learn in the safety of trained instructors and on bikes furnished by the dealer. If you buy a bike and wipe out while learning it will cost you more than the riding course. They call it Riders Edge at Harley.

I would first learn to ride on the dirt then focus on the street. The dirt is a lot softer than pavement!
The dirt is a good place to hone your reflex with the bike. Then go and learn how to ride on the street, traffic, etc.
I have been riding for about 30 years I have seen a lot of inexperienced riders really mess up ,some are crippled for life!
The traffic these days is tight even in the country, suburbs. When I started you could go for hours and not see anyone on the road, in the same area, within 15 mins you will see some one.
All I am saying motorcycle riding is fun if your safe and ready to to ride.
Get a hold of your local DMV they can direct you.

Your local dmv is a good place to start, they might just have info about learn to ride courses. Also many community colleges give them as well, often in just one weekend, prices vary. A complete course will end with you having your license, and some of them even provide the bikes to learn on. You need a motorcycle learners permit to take these courses, a simple written test. But read through the book first! The questions can often be tricky. As far as what type of bike, their you are on your own!

Make sure you don't get a big expensive bike for your first. Chances are your going to make some mistakes. I haven't dropped it yet, but if it was any heavier I would have a few times. I'm 5'9" and bought a 2003 Honda Shadow VLX. It's a great learner bike.....and it looks good. Also, about your M1's you can look on the net, or call a motorcycle shop close to you and ask for information. Good luck, and be safe.

Contact your local state troopers, or junior college, and ask for information on the Basic Rider Course. A Motorcycle Safety Foundation approved course is also available at Harley-Davidson dealers. Your are looking at $150. for a three day BRC course.
(The Harley course is more expensive, but generally more available.)

sturdy question...and a great variety of sturdy solutions. My answer: It varies. i will attempt to respond to extreme question. i don't get entangled with "Who might win a combat interior the shallow end of a swimming pool: A shark or a polar undergo?" (That became a actual question.) or perhaps a great variety of the "Who might win: Bruce Lee or xxx?" If I do answer, that's usually to show out that Lee is ineffective and xxx does no longer have a perplexing time beating a rotted corpse. many times, i do no longer do a lot study. I answer questions i know the solutions to. I actually have a tendency to do study while somebody is looking a extreme question approximately which gymnasium or dojo seems maximum suitable. i will persist with the links, seem on the web pages, and supply an answer. As others have stated, i will usually in hassle-free terms do study if it's going to help me or my expertise of something. sure, i'm getting very pissed off while somebody ideas an answer basically approximately in the present day...even while that answer is a very undesirable one. for that reason, right here and on another web pages the place I answer questions (Trulia, Zillow--i'm additionally into actual assets), I initiate with the latest questions and artwork my some time past. it is not likely to get a "maximum suitable answer" award yet rather to grant a sturdy answer initially. If different human beings have greater advantageous solutions, great. yet by utilising the time a question has 6 or 8 or greater solutions (satirically, like this one), the opportunities of my enter being seen drops extensively. I savor earning factors. yet--as regulars right here probably notice--I often grant an answer yet initiate with "XXX provided a great answer. you may desire to provide him the 'maximum suitable answer' award." and that i additionally study a lot right here from analyzing the different solutions. i'm best interior the climate of BJJ, grappling, MMA, and wrestling. i'm weaker in--have greater to evaluation approximately--classic martial arts. So I savor the discussions on those matters. right here on Yahoo, I additionally am somewhat energetic in "words and Wordplay" and the countless organisation, finance, and actual assets components. I prepare exceptionally a lot an analogous critera there. yet in those (extraordinarily "words and Wordplay"), a great variety of little ones are asking homework questions. in the event that they actually don't comprehend something, i will attempt to describe it. yet I draw the line while somebody posts a million/2 a dozen homework questions and easily needs somebody else to do the artwork. wish that facilitates.

Contact your local ABATE chapter. They offer motorcycle training courses - a 2 day course cost about $150. At the end of your course you receive the motorcycle endorsement for your driver's license.

Most state require that you have a motorcycle license or the motorcycle endorsement or your regular driver's license.

Questions like this are really hard to answer.

I have NO idea where you are posting from!

Every Country, Province or State has different rules.

If you ask at a place where the give licences they can explain that part. Your phone book should have safe rider courses and the licence registry might even have some to recommend.

The MSF , The Motorcycle Saftey Foundation, hosts classes in most major cities, Put them in your search engine with you city and zip code and it should give you a location.
I believe it's about $250.00 , but you get to use their bikes to learn on.
You will need to go to the DMV and pass a written exam and get your learners permit first. http://www.msf-usa.org
