Looking to take a long weekend driving trip in Midwest U.S. to a family friendly location. Any ideas?

If Kansas is in your trip you need to see a small town, Atchison. It is the home of Amelia Earhart and has lots and lots of history, some good museums,beautiful old homes, shopping. CLose by is Weston, Missouri and it is quaint and lots of antiques. I would highly recommend both of these old towns.
