I am not gay, but have studied the subject in depth and have known many gay people both men and women. I think gay people are just as likely to be monogamous as straight people. It just depends on the individual. A lot of times, people get this skewed image of gay people. They think because they are different that they are bad. Just because they are attracted to same sex partners, doesn't mean that they are sexual deviants.

My bf and I have been together for nearly 3yrs. It has been hard, but there is no was that we would have an open relationship. That was one thing I made very clear to him when we got together. You see I am a Scorpio and am extremely jealous. I would kill any one that can neer him. Yes I know I sound slightly psycho, but he has started to become the same way, and I love it.To us a relationship is between 2 people. We are exact opposites and every day we learn something new about each other, we try something new together (as long as it does not break any of our rules) and this keeps our relationship interesting. It is like we are always just getting to know each other.

It might be more common with gay guys, but I still wouldn't say "most" gay couples open up the relationship. To me, once you do that, the relationship is running on empty anyway. I think it's extremely rare to find anybody you could really be with for years and still have both hot sex and new things to say to each other, but screwing around with other people usually doesn't help. Of course there are no fixed rules. I have plenty of friends who have been happy in that kind of arrangement.

Hello there.... My name is Guy and my lover Rick and I have been together for 17 years strong. Yes we have our quabbles, who doesn't. BUT, we have never cheated on eachother. When we started dating, we made an agreement, if one of us wants to 'explore' feelings with someone else, they would end the relationship immediately. Once you start going around, you may never stop, but the disease factor is worth the effort to stay together and not stray. We do try new things all the time, there is a great lil ole store online were we can get special uniforms, toys, what have you, and that keeps it fresh and fun.
Best of luck to you both....
Guy/Rick

gay ppl are no diff than any other ppl. sometimes it works and other times it don't. on the whole most gay men i've known who are in solid relations remain that way for a very long time. it's a very reassureing feeling to know you have support from another human being who actually likes you as you are. in any relationship being judged, or constantly compared, as is usually the case i've seen in many, many str8 relationships, actually causes them to fail.

I couldn't handle an open relationship; I would feel very betrayed =/. This is not to say that it might not work for other guys mind you, I don't know.
