Many Greek statues would have been lost completely if not for Roman copies... so from an art historical standpoint, Rome helped preserve an ancient past that would be more lost to us than it is already.

And the dome! Romans used domes... .... um.... and planet names?

Oh, and I agree with the above answer that said toga parties and orgies! Though I think orgies might have been more of a greek thing... but togas are definitely Roman.

the tourism industry flocking to Rome to see the Colosseum. and of course it contributed to the "non-elected senate and senators in Canada --as a form of government of the non-elected officials" and furthermore on the light side of things it contributed to holding on to the name "you too Brutus!" when some good friend stab you in the back. To be fair, the greeks gave us buggering. The Romans gave us violent, forcible buggering (look up pedicare in a Latin dictionary, I dare you - or just read the Priapea).

Christianity.........That was how the Roman Catholic Church started. Without the "forced" conversion of Europe (that was under Roman rule), countries today would still be pagans.
