I am not sure if this will work on furniture but it works great on walls. I use Windex on them. Both on walls and doors to get of the stains from my hubby's smoking. Works great. Not sure if it will help you though.

Simple Green works great. My parents smoke in their house and this took the brown gunk off of their walls and got rid of the smell.

use a soap and water solution or lysol and water. if after, you find the smell still there wash everything from your walls to the carpet to get rid of the smell.
