My uncle is selling us a house, but he says it'll be 2-3 months because he wants to paint it first. I know the summer time is the best time to paint, but wouldn't spring suffice.. or even doing it now?

*We're in WV. Our daily temp. has been about 50 degrees for the past week. A few weeks ago we had a few snow storms, but I think it's over now.

My painters will not paint the exterior of my houses unless the temperature is at least 45 degrees. Most of the paint cans have 50 degrees on them but the paint stores tell us that is a conservative number.

If it's too cold you'll have to use 2 coats! Get it - 2 coats! Paint dries in hours, as long as it dosen't rain you are good to go. Why don't you test paint some wood and see how quick it dries outside with your particular paint at the temp you want to paint at?

50 degrees is usually fine for a latex. you really do not even want it to drop below 50 after you have painted for 24 hours. refer to the data sheet that comes with the paint for precise info on that particular paint though.
