Rebuilding with draft picks. Going nowhere so dumping expiring and high contracts. They will have some talent coming in future years and have room on next years cap to sign the guys they want. they will be spenders in the off-season. To bad, this is a terrible draft year.

The Flyers knew their season was tanked a long time ago, but the trades they are making (getting excellent returns too) are going to make them contenders in the very near future. They traded to have the necessary cap space to go after a Drury or Briere, or other top Free Agents. Also, they just traded for Biron, so they have good goaltending, and now they have young, fast players on defence. If they draft well, this is a team that could very easily make the playoffs next season.

at the starting up, Bouwmeester is loose to pass to any crew he desires on July 1st as a UFA. Secondly, Timonen's cap hit is a touch over 6 Million because he has a declining settlement. finally, Timonen is on %. for 40 2 factors (he's and has continually been a 40-50 factor participant) and a career acceptable +21. as well to, the Panthers is in simple terms no longer searching for wide contracts for Bouwmeester, they're going to be searching for a participant or 2 who can help them now at a lifelike cost and a prospect/draft %. or 2. Trades are a lot extra complicated then "the Flyers ought to"! BTW........isn't 12+19=31????

Well, anything they do can't possibly make them any worse than they are right now. Starting over from scratch and rebuilding seems to be their only option at present. I wish all you Flyers fans the best; I remember the years when Buffalo was awful and how painful it was to watch them struggle and struggle for nothing. I hope the Flyers manage to become a decently good and exciting hockey team again soon!

All the trades signal that the Flyers are set to start from square one. They paid the price this season for falling into the trap of thinking every offseason they were one player away from winning the Stanley Cup. Just hope they are able to rebuild quicker than St. Louis has been able to after Keenan came to town.

They are horrible. They got a lot of old players on their team. They are smart though, trying to rebuild for a good season next season. They are building up by trading their older players for younger ones. They are also getting draft picks in the trades to get more players. They won't and shouldn't trade Simon Gagne, he will soon be their captain, and he is their best player. They need to make Antero Niittymaki better, and make him consistent, then the Flyers will be a lot better next season.. I would say they'd get better next season, but they can't get much worse.

One of the smartest decisions in many years for the Flyers. Maybe something to do with not having Bobby Clarke who trades 30 somethings for 30 somethings and messes up chemistry. They haven't won a cup in over 30 years and the players they've had couldn't get them there in recent years. It will be determined how well these young prospects work, but I welcome a change in philosophy.

They presently stink. They're making trades so that they won't stink in the future. Seriously though, they've added some impressive young talent over the past couple of weeks. They could be a real force in a few years' time.

They are one of the few sellers. So everyone is looking to see what they have and offering to take it. They are rebuilding now. As to if being a bad draft year, well maybe that is why you are seeing just about everyone give up draft picks for this year. Maybe no one is seeing anyone worth taking. Just be careful, someone might sneak in.
