do you actually look at most of the open questions in a category or do you only look at the first page??

It depends on how active the category is. P&S changes so much, it is hard to keep up and have time to answer all the open questions. Other categories don't get that many new questions, making it easier go deeper into the selection of open questions.

On the other hand, I can answer a lot fo questions if I'm having trouble sleeping.

I look at about 6 pages usually if I have time, then I go back to see what new ones are there again.

sometimes i look at the first page but i mostly go into the jokes and riddles and see those questions which are actually all just jokes and all you have to do is say something like oh yeah that was funny or hahaha

I sometimes start about 6 or 7 pages in and work backwards.

i often go back as far as 10 pages looking for something to post to. then i work my way forward again to catch up.
