I can't believe that the questions from the bashers get so many answers. Look at them and you will see that they end up with 30 or more answers in a very short time. We have to stop ALL replys.

I suggest, starting NOW, that the FIRST person to answer a post, to post a RAMO answer. As an example, see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai0W.BftqI6NhqnWG7yMg5D07BR.?qid=20070226192220AALMkn0

Anyone who visits AFTER the RAMO message is posted, should just REPORT it as abuse.

DO NOT reply in any way. Don't say "You are reported". DO NOT REPLY AT ALL !!!

I don't know why people can't understand this.

If anyone replys AFTER a RAMO message, anyone else visiting that question should give them a THUMBS DOWN. (Unless it is only a minute or so after, in which case the RAMO answer may not have been posted yet.)

If you want to have the bashers leave, we need to stop answering their questions. I think my way will work after a while.

Will YOU commit to helping ?

You can see by Ms Olga's answer that she doesn't like my idea. If we all ignore them - COMPLETELY - they won't get their kicks and will eventually leave.

Thank You Ms Olga for helping prove my point.

Phemonoe24 - Eventually everyone WILL comply if everyone starts giving them a THUMBS DOWN when the place an answer AFTER the RAMO answer. They will shortly learn NOT to do that.

fsb2u2004 - First of all, I stated that I had a "suggestion". Secondly, I am trying to eliminate a problem. Third, they don't foolishly leave a straight line you can drive a truck through, they KNOW they will get a response from some people. That is what they are seeking. If you take that away, then they will not have the fun that they seek.

However, I know that not everyone wants to deal with the problem. I didn't think for one moment that everyone would think it is a good idea. I just hope that enough people do, so that it starts to have an effect. Then, others may see more clearly.

Basically, it comes down to this - Do you want to try to get a forum that is worth reading, or do you want to have a forum that does not have any useful function ? I am trying to make the forum better. What is it that you are trying to do ?

Well it seems like a good idea in theory, but we have so many new people that have been coming on here that it will not work in practice, I don't believe. I think a better solution is to just ignore the trolls that do it. They will still get answers from many people, though.

There is another problem with this suggestion as well, but I would rather mention this to you privately instead of posting it here. Please send a message to my e-mail through the link, and I will tell you there in reply, if you like.

It sounds like a good idea, but I don't think everyone will comply with it. Therefore, the questioner will always have a reason to come back. I'll try to go along with this, though. Good luck.

For some people, the thumbs downs aren't important. And if there are at least 2 people on here like Ms. Olga, they'll just go on entertaining themselves by answering each other's questions, no matter what others do. If they get reported, they'll create new accounts and come right back. However, keep spreading the word. I do believe that if others do as you ask, there will be a lot fewer people on here acting as Olga does. Every little bit helps.

I'll definitely cooperate, but I doubt it will work. I've been here for a while, and many times people have posted questions along these lines of not feeding the trolls, of RAMO and all that . . . and still people do it. I chalk it up to people 1) not reading these sugsestions and guidelines or knowing about them, 2) thinking that not responding makes the trolls' questions seem legitimate, 3) people want to take out their anger, no matter what, and 4) new members to the site have no idea how long this has been going on and think it's awful and jump to defend the GLBT community. Not to mention that oftentimes bashers get a rush off of getting so many violation notices- I know one once had it as his/her goal to get as many as possible- so just stopping responses might not be enough, you know?

But yeah, I'll do my part. But then again, I rarely respond to bashers anyways.

SO many people from other areas of the site comment those questions first tho, but it's worth a shot here, I suppose. I'll do it!

Sounds good-- so , forgive my old dull brain: first person to notice the abuse writes "RAMO" and reports?

I agree with you completely, and I already do what you suggested. In fact, I posted a question similar to this a while back, but I'm too lazy to look for it. Trust me.

In addition: If you DO respond, you're not making a point. You're getting played like a you-know-what.

I tried one time to get people to quit responding to the racist statements on here. The people that post that stuff are looking for outrage, just don't give it to them.

I gave someone on here my word that I won't even read their question & I don't. Please e mail this to all your friends, then ask them to e mail this to all their friends so eventually everyone will understand. Those bashers are not worth a second of my time

I think you are absolutely right, and I hope it will work. I am so tired of the trolls. I don't even come to this board as often as I'd like because they piss me off so much.

Agreed. They get points by choosing a best answer, then post more hate. Report, do not answer.
