Not very...that is not the job of military personnel. They are to do as they are told. You cannot have a cohesive team if you have people questioning orders and doing what they feel "good" about.

If you have a problem with authority, you should not be in the military. If you have a problem with the war in Iraq, you should not be in the military. If you have a problem do what you are told, you should not be in the military.

Basically when you join the military, you enter into a contract. That contract says you will support and defend the constitution and the orders given by the president and officers appointed over you. At this point in time, I doubt folks will be cast out for voicing opinions as long as they follow orders and don't purposely try to sabotage mission objectives. I would say do your time, when it's up don't re-enlist and then you can say whatever you want.

You are the property of the United States government. GI means government issue. You can think what you like but should never speak against your boss, the commander in chief, - the president. If you know what's good for you, you will obey all orders.

You Are Not In Opposition With Those Who Feed You.
You are free to do whatever you want; it's our country's nature; even under military law.
But know my statement.
My kids can tell me how much they hate me for not doing what they would, and I respect and listen to their opinion.
After twenty-four or thirty-six hours of not eating, they always change their minds.
