A great place to look is Classified Ads or do a search for FreeCycle. It is a group of people from different parts of the US and you join the group and can either post an ad as to what you are looking for or browse ads from people who have things they are looking to get rid of. Everything on FreeCycle has to be for free. The Salvation Army also is another place to look. Local Churches is another place. If you call and tell them your situation they can ask people in the Church if they have items to donate. If you live anywhere near Maine or New Hampshire, Uncle Henry;s is wonderful. They have a free for the taking section. Good Luck on your new start, I have been there before and know how scary and hard it can be. If you are near Maine, let me know. I can help.

If you attend church, ask them. They can probably find some members with unused furniture.
