Some people experience a change in urine odor immediately after eating asparagus and others have urine that smells like maple sugar. The latter is genetic and would not be your case.
Most likely causes: something in your diet or an infection. The infection might cause urinary urgency...feeling like you have to go frequently, or burning while urinating, or cloudy urine.
If you get any of these symptoms, it would be wise to check with your family doctor.

Are you eating asparagus? That can do it. You are probably not drinking enough water. Try increasing the amount of water you drink during the day and see if that helps.
Also, vitamins can make your urine dark and strong in odor.

First of all drink more fluids (water and cranberry juice are very good) Is there burning when you urinate? Are you eating asparagus? That vegetable metabolizes to create a different smell in your urine.
Is your urine very dark? (brown). If so that is a possibility of hepatitis...go and see a doctor right away!

Infection
Elevated bilirubin levels: are you a drinker; do you have liver problems even caused by gallbladder problems.
Kidney disease
Dehydration:try drinking more fluids to see if it helps
You really should go to your doc and get a urine specimen done to check and see what the problem is!
