After years of losing season after season, the Cincinnati Bengals finally made it to the playoffs during the 2005/2006 NFL season. It was a happy moment for the people of Cincinnati. Unfortunately, only minutes into the playoff game, Carson Palmer, the Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback, was hit severely in the knee making it impossible for him to continue playing. It was a very sad and frustrating game after Palmer left the field.

There have been many---baseball fans might say Lou Gehrig's "Today I'm the luckiest man in the world" speech. Football fans might mention the New England Patriots improbible Super Bowl victory a few months after 911, or Doug Flutie's "Hail Mary" pass at Boston College. Basketball fans would mention many Michael Jordan moments, Magic Johnson's final all-star game, (I'd choose T-Mac's 12 points in 32 seconds last year)

But the worldwide athlete of the last century was Mohammed Ali. He had several great moments, against Frazier and Foreman and Liston. But his lighting the Olympic torch with a shaking hand is probably the most remembered athletic moment in world history, and he both rekindled the sport in the 60's and 70's, and has killed it in the 90's and 00's because of the sad spectacle of a once vibrant man who has difficulty doing just about anything. He does not want pity, has great dignity and is a remarkable man, but what has happened to him has severely damaged a sport that I once participated in enthusiastically and successfully, and now can hardly stand to watch. Repeatedly beating another man's head until he is unconscious just isn't as much fun to watch, or do, as it used to be. I guess I'm getting old---Brian

Hi!
There have been many. It is really difficult to choose. But in the recent past, the most overwhelming has been the return of Tigerdada(saurav ganguly) back into the team. The courage, strong will power and the determination which he exhibited is certainly laudable.
Hats off to him.
