If you read the news, and the volcano they are loading with cement balls to prevent hot mud. I am more concerned if the volcano blows dues to pressure, how much more damage the pressure pushing out the cement balls in that volcano will cause. Anyone else thinking this? Mother Nature more powerful then human beings.

i'm not totally understanding the logic behind what they are doing either. scientist are sometimes quick to jump the gun. reminds me of when some scientists thought throwing a bunch of tires into the ocean would get ocean creatures to come to the area, that one totally backfired.

If you read the articles, then you should know this is not an erupting volcano, or even a dormant volcano. It's just pressurized water from underground. What happened was that while exploratory drilling was being done by an energy firm looking for naural gas, an underground chamber of hydrogen sulphide was encountered and they had not put a proper well case in the borehole, allowing very warm mud *NOT LAVA* to be forced to the surface. The concrete balls are intended to slow the flow down. The pressure should actually be decreasing slightly since they punctured a sealed chamber basically, and not build any higher even if they plug it completely. It's just a big muddy spring.
Think of it as if you poked a small hole in a water balloon. plugging the hole again won't make the balloon blow up.

What comes from an active volcano: LAVA.
What is LAVA: MOLTEN ROCK.
What lame brain came up with the idea of putting cement balls into a volcano do disrupt anything? Some people really need to get a life.

loading a volcano with cement balls is just so crazy......you cant stop a volcano from erupting......but we can make the damage lesser by making a way (like canals) which will lead out of civilization and lead it to a place where the hot lava will be cooled down.we can use the cooled lava for infrastracture

I Was wondering the same thing...but more in the way of what may not be able to erupt upwards could possibly erupt downwards and depending on faults/weaknesses in the earth's crust could create a more catastophic event than the volcano alone would have
