Yes. this is America freedom of speech freedom of religion and freedom to do whatever they want. There's nothing wrong with gays, they are human beings.

I just have to laugh out loud at the idea of marriage being a religious term and therefor gays should not get married. So, are all married people Catholic? Religious? Hardly!

OH, that's such a hysterical argument.

Anyway, there is this little thing in our country called seperation of church and state. Religion (any religion) does not dictate law.

Anyone who is in love, over 18, not hurting themselves or anyone else, and not related should have the right to get married. END OF STORY. The economy will not collapse, there will be no negative consequences on society or on straight married couples.

I think that if you're in love, you should be allowed to marry the person you are in love with. Whether a man loves a man, a woman loves a woman, or a man loves a woman, whoever desires to get married and spend their lives devoted to one another and bound by marriage should be able to do so.

I don't understand why the people against gay people getting married are so intimidated by gay marriage. They seem to use that line "marriage is between a man and a woman." Who is to say that is the only way it works? The world is not black and white, there are gray areas. There is no absolute right or wrong when it comes to marriage. The only marriage requirements are that the people to be married love each other.

Love is love, baby. If two lovers want to be married, more power to them! I say go for it!

Absolutely gays should be able to get married.

I just don't understand why bigoted str8 people are so unaccepting of something that doesn't even affect them. All I can stay is they've made a mockey out of the institution of marriage anyway. With a 50-60% divorce rate, you arent doing a very good job, so GET OVER IT!!

of course we should be allowed to get married! any consenting, unrelated adults who are in a loving, committed, monogamous relationship (regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion or culture) should have the same rights as any other citizen. I work full time, pay my bills, pay my taxes like anyone else. my partner and I are registered domestic partners, and we've had a commitment ceremony. for all intents and purposes, we are a married couple. who exactly does it hurt if we get married?

My dear, it's a fait accompli. In Canada gays and Lesbians DO have the right to get married and that's just how it is. No room for debate on it.

The English language can be a very divisive thing, can't it? I'm not just talking about "marriage", either. I mean referring to gay people as "them". Which brings me to my point: gay, straight, black, white, Jewish, Christian, we're all humans, and should all have the same basic human rights.

Gays, what do I think of them? I think we are GREAT! Everyone should have the right to marry whom they want.
