i missed a day of school and i want to do the homework but i dont understand what what the problem is asking me.

find the geometric mean of the given numbers.
1. 2 and 18

if you can give me as much detail on how to awnser this i would appreciate it and don't give me the awnser please i want to figure the rest out.

The arithmetic mean of a set of data is found by taking the sum of the data and dividing by the total number of values in the set. The mean is commonly referred to as an average.

here is a great, easy to read discussion!

it says as an example,

the geometric mean of the scores: 1, 2, 3, and 10 is the fourth root of 1 x 2 x 3 x 10,

which is the fourth root of 60 which equals 2.78

Please remember that the geometric mean is totally different from the normal "mean", which means average. Geometric mean is different.

To find the geometric mean of 2, and 18, you would do the following:

Multiply the two numbers. 2 x 18 = 36.
You would then find the square root of that.

the mean is the same thing as finding the average...add all the numbers together and them divide that answer by how many number there are....so 1+2+18=something....then something divided by 3= the answer
