Hope you don't,its not the right thing to do besides, if you are a liar for the reasons you say its not true you really are doing it to make yourself feel better not them. You see,your feeling badly because they are and,there for you lie to them thinking its helping,,but its NOT! its just making you feel better about not knowing any other way to ease the woes they are having,so would you enjoy to to know you had been lied to by you friend or boyfriend? A good friend isn't supposed to lie to you ,if your are one, you wont lie to them for any reason.(THE TRUTH ISN'T ALWAYS THE MOST POPULAR ANSWER, BUT ITS ALWAYS THE RIGHT ONE)Take care

Just tell them the truth. If they get upset for a long time then they have some problems and u should think about ending it.
