At first, at least for myself, I thought the magazines like People, US Weekly, Life & Style, etc. were just rags and I would make fun of my sisters for reading them. Yet after a while I would find myself reading them front to back every Friday when the new issues would come out. There is something inherently interesting about them that ties in with the whole American idea of being fascinated by car wrecks. These magazines allow us to see celebrities mess up which everybody loves. The magazines like Cosmo, Elle, Glamour, Allure hold less of an appeal to men. They do contain humorous articles especially the ones with tips on how to satisfy men in bed. Many of the techniques that they advocate would cause me to slap a girl if she ever tried them on me. The magazines that have a quiz or two are also entertaining and that is what the interest that a man has in women's magazines boils down to, they provide entertainment or comedic value. I hope men do not read them trying to gain insight in to the female mind because that would be a fruitless effort. Oh yeah and because a dude read a women's magazine he is not gay nor does he wish he were a woman. If anything the men's magazines (especially those focused on fitness or lifting weights) are extremely gay. I work at a book store that sells a lot of magazines and I have lost count of the number of times I have seen creepy old dudes or obviously gay men buying those magazines.

Yes men read/pa-ruse women's magazines; I have found that most will do this out of boredom in waiting room situations. Also, most seem to prefer fashion mags where women are wearing less clothing. They'll normally pick up the literature on various diseases and scan it before they will pick up magazines such as "Good Housekeeping," "Martha Stewart Living," etc...

They love it!!!! Women's mags tell them things they need to know about women. You know the men's mags they've been reading probably didn't get them too far with women. I think their favorites are ones like People. They are couch potatos so they know more about celebs than we do and they sneak our mags to find out all the juicy stuff. I'm sure they also like any mags we have w/ pretty girls so that's just about all of them.

On rare occasions when really bored and nothing else is available. Life stories are sometimes mildly interesting. Mens vs. Womens? That's like comparing Mars with Venus.
